Arts And Cultural Development
Nd’Igbo have very beautiful culture evident in the way our men and women dress, our traditional music, arts, and norms. We are gradually watching the demise of this beautiful culture, as we rush to assimilate western traditions both good and bad.
Development Of Cultural Books:
We will work with authors, writers, and our institutions of higher learning to compile, and refine some of our folk stories into either school literatures (in the likes of ‘Nza n’ Obu’), or bed-time story books for our kids.
Cultural Activities:
We will encourage traditional institutions to refine and uphold harmless cultural activities at community levels. In addition, the state cultural troupe, as well as the ‘Omenimo cultural day’ will be sustained.
Faith-based Programs:
As the world is moving on, culture is also moving on. The important role churches and media houses play as driving forces of modern culture cannot be over-looked. We will reach out to these avenues to foster understanding, cooperation, and help create formidable programs that can address modern realities. Some areas I see effective faith-based programs include programs aimed at family orientation, discouraging risky behaviors, treatment for addictive habits, prevention of HIV-AIDS, counselling for perpetrators and victims of destructive cultural practices.
