Political Cooperation
Inter-Party Cooperation:
Imo state has enjoyed relative political stability. We will continue to invest in our fledgling democracy by promoting inter party cooperation, due diligence, transparency, accommodating genuine opposition, listening to dissenting voices, respecting our serving politicians as well as our political elders (those who laid the political foundation on which we stand) irrespective of where they belong. We must see politics as a ‘calling’ and not a profession. Those who are ‘called’ to serve are equally as important as those who are ‘called’ to oppose.
A Grooming Forum For The Future Leaders:
- We will provide a grooming platform for our future leaders to pass on a legacy of ‘one state, one destiny’ to our younger generation. If we don’t have such a grooming forum, we will continue to act with variance, discord, and impulse at the national level. As a people we should have one voice. However, effective leaders are groomed and equipped.
Human Rights and Press Freedom:
- As a practicing attorney I value social justice and human rights. We will guarantee freedom of the press, and train our state to tolerate political dissention as a literary exercise. Politics is not a ‘do-or-die’ affair. Those who agree do so because they love our state, those who don’t also do so for the same reason. No one should be persecuted simply because she/ he disagreed.
With an appropriate political framework, increased awareness in consumer behavior and effective leadership under Ike C. Ibe, Imo State will achieve sustainable development before 2023.
