The state will maximize the tourism potentials of Owerri, and Oguta. Whereas Owerri is a potential hospitality/tourism hub due to its central location and accessibility to five major cities (Enugu, Onitsha, Umuahia, Aba, Port Harcourt), the scenic beauty of Oguta Lake offers lucrative opportunities if properly developed for tourists attraction. These potentials must be harnessed. Almost every local government in Imo state has one unique tourism potential or cultural events or the other.
